Staff Structure

Little Cherubs Day Care Nursery works through a key worker system. Your child will be allocated a member of staff to be their key worker throughout their time in each group. You will be given details of who that person is during your first week in nursery. Key worker lists can also be found on each group's notice board, in case you forget! Each key worker will be responsible for the well being of their group of children on a daily basis, tending to their personal needs and also completing their daily reports/monthly reports/observations and assessments.

Staffing

Little Cherubs Day Care Nursery is staffed with full and some part time workers, all staff are qualified or working towards NVQ 3 / BTEC / NNEB qualifications. Group Leaders have at least three years experience and training in running a group, they are supported by Nursery Nurses who have qualified in childcare. Nursery Assistants have an NVQ 2 or equivalent and are working towards NVQ 3 qualification in childcare. The Manager and Deputy Manager are both supernumery and have many years of experience, both have an Advanced Diploma in childcare.

Photographs of staff are available on the notice board for you to see. We also wear name badges for you to identify us. You will also be introduced to new staff in your child's group if the need arises. Staff also have continued professional development and are upating with courses in childcare all the time.

Staffing Ratios

Ratios are constantly checked and kept througout the day to ensure your child receives the most attention and care. There is a contigency plan in place for staff sickness and holidays. We take students, from college and also NVQ2 students, who assist in helping in the groups but are not included in our ratios. These students can be identified by a student badge and will also not be wearing a Little Cherubs Day Care Nursery uniform.

0-1yrs 1 adult: 3 children
1-2yrs 1 adult: 3 children
2-3yrs 1 adult: 4 children
3-4yrs 1 adult: 8 children

As a nursery we are currently working towards gaining Quality Counts. Quality Counts marks a childcare provider out as special. It builds on the unique provision each setting provides, while ensuring each one has its heart at the same underlying ethos of commitment to families, staff, the community and above all the child.
