Wales Hot 100 Company - 2005 Quality Counts

NOVEMBER

29/10/2007
We have recently sent out questionnaires to all parents regarding the service of the nursery.  This is to ensure that the nursery is working to a high standard and takes on board the views of it's users.  Once we have received them all we will compile them into a report and focus on the points made to make improvements, if any to our service.

We are having a parents evening this month so all parents can attend to chat to staff about their child.  Staff will be on hand to show parents around the nursery and discuss the curriculum and assessments.  We will also be having light refreshments and various stalls of interest.

We had photographs taken last month ready for Christmas, they look fantastic.  The commission from this will be put towards our Christmas parties in December.  We will be having our wonderful entertainer and Santa from last year Carl John.

We are pleased to offer our Christmas shopping days again this year. For only £20.00 for a full day you can book in an extra session to go shopping with out an extra hassle!

Our menus have changed this month to cater for the winter weather.  More homemade soups have been added along with the favourites of chicken dinner and homemade pizzas.  We will also be trying the children with some new recipes such as sausage goulash, courgette pasta and carrot and lentil soup.

We will be having a smalll fee increase in January in line with inflation and other nurseries in the local area.  This will be changed on the fees section on the web site soon.

All staff this month have attended fire safety training.  2 staff members have attended child protection, 2 attended a consulting with children workshop and 1 has attended a intermediate food hygeine course. We've been busy!

We have been lucky enough to secure a full double page spread in the local early years magazine 'Early Times'.  We have written a wonderful article on outside play accompanied by some photos of the older children playing in our sensory garden.  We will also be having a few more articles published with our next one being on heuristic play.  Don't forget to get your copy of the 'Early Times' magazine!
