Wales Hot 100 Company - 2005 Quality Counts

September Newsletter

06/09/2007
We recently had a party for the 3-5 year olds to say good-bye to all the school leavers.  They had a lovely time and played lots of fun games.  We wish them all well in 'Big School' and hope they come back to visit us soon.

As mentioned in the last newsletter we had some money left over from when we purchased our outdoor suits.  We have bought 4 new bikes and a digger for the garden.  The children have especially enjoyed playing on the digger!

We are sending out questionnaires this month for parents to fill in.  This will regualte the quality of care we provide and help improve our service.  We will also prepare a comprehensive report of the findings and any improvements we wish to make at nursery.

As you are aware all staff regularly update their courses.  This month 1 member of staff is updating their food hygiene certificate and 2 are updating their child protection. One of our group leaders will be attending a birth to three matters training course which all the other group leaders attended last year. This is what we base the curriculum planning and activities on for the children aged 3 and under and will be of great benefit to the nursery.

We are reminding all parents to read up on our policies and procedures which can be found in their full version in our foyer.  Parent's do receive a precis version in their enrolment pack on joining the nursery but can have full copies on request.  We have gained a vast amount of knowledge over the years and have learnt to deal with most eventualities from our experiences and therefore have lots of policies to read!

We will be expecting our CSSIW inspection soon which will be our first unannounced visit. When we have our feedback we will let you know all the outcomes!
