28/06/2007We will be holding our annual fun afternoon on Tuesday 24th July. This will take place from 4.00pm-6.00pm. We will be having a bouncy castle, cake decorating, pinata games and our raffle etc. This event will also give parents a chance to talk to staff informaly about their child. We are hoping for nice weather to enjoy all the fun!
We have a new display rack in the foyer for all our information. It contains extra copies of our old and new newsletters, update address sheets, staff babysitters phone numbers and suggestion sheets. We have also compiled together a lovely scrap book of cards, photos and letters from all the children who have attended Little Cherubs over the last 4 years.
Staff have been busy updating their qualifications. Courses attended include Health & Safety, Behaviour management, intermediate food hygeine and HACPP control. One member of staff has completed her NVQ level 3 in childcare and another her Advanced Diploma in Childcare and Education (Level 4). Well done everybody!
We held our Barnardos toddle last month and had a great day, we raised lots of money in excess of £600.00 for the charity thanks to all the amazing sponsors the children found. A percentage of this money also goes towards the nursery which will be added onto our outdoor suit fund which now has enough money to buy a few suits for the staff so they don't feel left out!
Our music and movement sessions run by a staff member qualified in dance have been a great success. We incorporate singing and music in our everyday activities but the children look forward to dedicated sessions. We have displayed lots of photos of the children taking part around the nursery. Each session has been tailored for the individual age groups with sessions using props, instruments, bubbles and even a yoga class. By using the special equipment and props we are appealing to the children's different learning styles and helping develop their conceptual thinking and memory skills.
