Wales Hot 100 Company - 2005 Quality Counts

April 2007

26/03/2007
Thank you to all our parents who attended our open evening last month.  We hope you all enjoyed it and found it worthwhile.

We have a new member of staff in our 1-2 years room to cover Rachel's maternity leave.  She is called Joanna and has been learning all about Rachel's role for the last month.  Joanna joins us from a nursery in West Wales and is qualified to an NVQ level 3.

Well done to Stacie, Sarah Jayne and Alana for doing their sponsored abseil last month. Well done also to the 5 members of staff who gained certificates in working hard at our Investors in People award.

Whilst attending an AGM in Preston last month we found out that our very popular homemade tomato soup recipe which can be adapted for food allergies has been included in the NDNA nursery cook book.  We are very proud and have placed the book on our food board in the foyer.

We have been working hard at our Welsh this month learning new words and songs.  We have also been enjoying our music and movement sessions that we have been doing weekly.  We also enjoyed having Sue's puppy to come and visit us in nursery.  The children have also been actively taking part along with the staff in recycling, we are doing very well and the children gained a lot out of this.

We have started to say a small verse at mealtimes to ensure the children are learning good manners.  The verse composed by the 1-2 year group is:
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the food we eat
Thank you for the games we play
Thank you for our fun today!

We are having Active photography in this month to take photographs of the children.  This is great as not only do they take photos but also offer extra such as photos on canvas.
