22/02/2007We have now had our summerhouse completed and must admit it looks great! It will be very handy for storage of wellies and also a fun place to play games in for the children. We have had many improvements in the nursery and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. This is to ensure the nursery is looking clean and fresh and is up to high health and safety standards.
We have a new board in the foyer detaling exactly what the children have eaten each day. It also includes information on how many portions of fruit and vegetables your child has been offered. This will make sure the children are offered over and above the recommended 5 portions a day. The baby unit also has a food board. This details what nutrients a child needs at certain ages with a specially adapted menu for babies weaning up to 7 months.
We have had a little competition between the groups in nursery to come up with a verse for the children to learn and say at mealtimes. This is to encourage the children to say thank you and to develop a good routine. The winning verse was submited by the dragonflies group and will be started next month.
We are starting our fundraising to save up for all weather outdoor suits. We currently have a chance to order a nursery polo shirt or sweater in a variety of colours to help towards this.
Don't forget all registered parents will have a chance to attend our parents evening on Wednesday 14th March. This will give you a chance to talk to your childs key worker and discuss their progress at nursery. We will also be having a stall with a lady from barefoot books seling a wide variety of items.
